Hotels/Accomodations

While we didn't arrive at our first hotel until 12:30 Monday morning, we were welcomed to a beautiful hotel. There actually are no front doors, just an open walkway leading to the front desk. The rooms are all different shapes and sizes, meaning the pictures of my room might not be the same as other rooms. They had twin beds packed snugly into the room. There was always a cool breeze blowing through because all of the windows were open. From the fourth floor we didn't have a good view, but people on other floors could see almost all of the city (allowing us to spot a Wendy's). The pool was a decent size, but with everything else happening, we only got to try it out once. The breakfast, or desayuno if you prefer, was great with fresh fruit and pancakes. The waiters bring you what tasted like a mix of pineapple and orange juice. Having this be our first use of Spanish was great because it really got us warmed up for the day. I'll give you guys an update on Chitré.  - Phillip Carrol

Hey there, welcome back to another paragraph about a hotel. Our second hotel was Hotel Azuero in Chitré. This hotel, like the first, didn't have any front doors but an open walkway. However this hotel was of higher quality. It had only two double beds per room, which made sleeping arrangements a little "cozy". We got there around 9pm Wednesday night and their amazing pool was already closed. So we just went and ate dinner, came back and got ready for bed. Breakfast the next morning required a check- in. It was comprised of delicious Panamanian breakfast dishes, one with chorizo and vegetables, and the other had beef and onions. They also had your regular cereals, eggs, and waffles. The weirdest thing wasn't actually food, but juice. They were serving cantaloup juice. While we didn't get to try out their wonderful pool, Hotel Azuero was a fun and classy hotel. Much love from the Adventure Club.  - Phillip Carrol
